The here and now... and what and why

Complacency is a trap. At least that’s what I was thinking when I up and left the comfort of a Yankee prep school gig, where I taught music, amongst other things, for 28 years. There was also that life long career as a composer, musician and artist.

First, it was a year in St. Thomas, USVI, working as a reporter and shooting photography and then, a year in San Agustin Etla, Oaxaca, Mexico.
Time passed.
More time passed and a year back in the Athens of America followed by a hasty return to Oaxaca where it is all happening.
A couple of years in San Sebastian Etla and now, just down the road in San Pablo Etla. Life is good.

Back in the game..

OMG, a blog post!  OK, I've been a bit delinquent, really... does it matter?  The weather has been beautiful.
And the garden has exploded, so I've been busy.
More pics mañana.  But man does not live by gardening alone, so I had to eat.  How about bacon wrapped shrimp from Marco Polo, a Oaxacan favorite for seafood?  To die for... or maybe after.  They were sooo good, crispy with a little quesillo under the bacon.  Not the best pic, but I guess I was anxious to eat.
And of course, enchiladas and carne frita from Emilia Ruiz in Teotitlan del Valle.  She may not be one of the best cooks in the entire universe, but then again, she very well may be.
