The here and now... and what and why

Complacency is a trap. At least that’s what I was thinking when I up and left the comfort of a Yankee prep school gig, where I taught music, amongst other things, for 28 years. There was also that life long career as a composer, musician and artist.

First, it was a year in St. Thomas, USVI, working as a reporter and shooting photography and then, a year in San Agustin Etla, Oaxaca, Mexico.
Time passed.
More time passed and a year back in the Athens of America followed by a hasty return to Oaxaca where it is all happening.
A couple of years in San Sebastian Etla and now, just down the road in San Pablo Etla. Life is good.

Seriously?

I have a series of photos with people's T-shirts entitled, "Do they know what their shirt says?" and I kinda feel the same way about the bizarro fried chicken sandwich OOTD (Outrage of the day).  Do people know what they look like? What they sound like?  Remember, the rest of the world is watching and seriously scratching their heads goin'."Hmmmm..."

I'm confused.  Would they all have gone to Woolworth's lunch counters in support of segregation in the 50's?  Filled the buses the day after Rosa Parks sat in front?  I just don't get it.  I must still be feeling too good about human beings after the guelageutza.  I probably need to work more on my hate.

And the Olympics are not helping at all with all those amazing people and performances.
We need a little Senor Daddy Love...
