The here and now... and what and why
Complacency is a trap. At least that’s what I was thinking when I up and left the comfort of a Yankee prep school gig, where I taught music, amongst other things, for 28 years. There was also that life long career as a composer, musician and artist.
First, it was a year in St. Thomas, USVI, working as a reporter and shooting photography and then, a year in San Agustin Etla, Oaxaca, Mexico.
Time passed.
More time passed and a year back in the Athens of America followed by a hasty return to Oaxaca where it is all happening.
A couple of years in San Sebastian Etla and now, just down the road in San Pablo Etla. Life is good.

You can find my music on Jango (World & latin - Worldbeat) and at iTunes and most online stores.

At the movies - Alone w/Batman
I love going to the movies here. Today, it was the 11:20 AM showing of "Batman: El Caballero de la Noche Asciende." First, the whole experience so different from one in the States. First, everyone is so happy to see you. "Buenos dias, we are so glad you are here. That will be $45 MP ($3.40 US). Where would you like to sit?" Then they flash you a screen with all the available seats and you can choose where you would like. For me it was an easy choice, seeing as though it was late morning. Even though the theater seats 400-500, I managed to snake a good seat. Somehow, the other four people in the place dealt with it quite graciously. So there I was, dead center, palomitas and refresco in hand, with great sound, perfect picture. Essentially alone. What can I say? Five stars! As for the movie? I liked it... a lot. 4.88 stars!

And you did not get shot by a nut with a gun. Even better!
