The here and now... and what and why

Complacency is a trap. At least that’s what I was thinking when I up and left the comfort of a Yankee prep school gig, where I taught music, amongst other things, for 28 years. There was also that life long career as a composer, musician and artist.

First, it was a year in St. Thomas, USVI, working as a reporter and shooting photography and then, a year in San Agustin Etla, Oaxaca, Mexico.
Time passed.
More time passed and a year back in the Athens of America followed by a hasty return to Oaxaca where it is all happening.
A couple of years in San Sebastian Etla and now, just down the road in San Pablo Etla. Life is good.

Get yer motor runnin'.... and pay those bills

As I was paying my electricity bill at one of the nearby drive thru machines, I noticed that the guards and the gardener all had their cell phones out and were taking pictures of the guy at the machine next to mine.  I looked and could see why.  So, of course, I joined in.
We all agreed it was one mean mother of a bike.  Hard to see, but there is a real ribcage encasing the gas tank.
And its rider completed the picture perfectly.
I talked to him for a bit and he was quite friendly no matter how scary he looked.
He was from one of the Etlas, so he is a local bad ass.
Fantastic... like Darth Vader at the ATM or sumpin'
This shot is through my windshield and from a long way back as he made a quick getaway.
