The here and now... and what and why

Complacency is a trap. At least that’s what I was thinking when I up and left the comfort of a Yankee prep school gig, where I taught music, amongst other things, for 28 years. There was also that life long career as a composer, musician and artist.

First, it was a year in St. Thomas, USVI, working as a reporter and shooting photography and then, a year in San Agustin Etla, Oaxaca, Mexico.
Time passed.
More time passed and a year back in the Athens of America followed by a hasty return to Oaxaca where it is all happening.
A couple of years in San Sebastian Etla and now, just down the road in San Pablo Etla. Life is good.

Ahhh... finally some good dim sum

I know what you are saying.  Good dim sum in Oaxaca?  No way!  And you would be right.  I am temporarily in El Norte and while waiting for a train, I had enough time to visit the China Pearl in Boston's Chinatown.  I have eaten there many times and I even got to see an old friend who has been working there for over ten years.  There was a time when I was eating there every day and got to know her.
I like this shot because the lady in the mirror looks like she is at the same table as the man, but she's not.
It was mighty fine.  I know I should have taken a before picture, but I all got was the after.  I will try to go back before I head back south.
Hmmmm.... dim sum in Oaxaca?  No, never gonna happen.
