The here and now... and what and why

Complacency is a trap. At least that’s what I was thinking when I up and left the comfort of a Yankee prep school gig, where I taught music, amongst other things, for 28 years. There was also that life long career as a composer, musician and artist.

First, it was a year in St. Thomas, USVI, working as a reporter and shooting photography and then, a year in San Agustin Etla, Oaxaca, Mexico.
Time passed.
More time passed and a year back in the Athens of America followed by a hasty return to Oaxaca where it is all happening.
A couple of years in San Sebastian Etla and now, just down the road in San Pablo Etla. Life is good.

Waters of March? Not here, but....

I wish there had been, however, I just found this and it is one of my all time favorite songs/performances  evah.  I had no idea there was a video of their performance, but wow, I love it.

One of my favorites also!
Not sure when this was recorded, however the cigarette that appears at the 2:20 point might be a clue.
Another version from 1974 here:

Gracias. Wow, that is another great version. There is just something about the way they interact that always brings both a tear and a smile. Plus, it is one sweet chord progression, with incredible lyrics and Brazilian rhythm. As good as it gets.

This comment under the video you posted tells a story connected a bit to your second last post about the roof pouring!
"I would like to expand the lyrics explanation. It was composed when Tom Jobim was building his country house nearby RIo de Janeiro (as I´ve heard once in a interview of his partners. If you check the images of lyrics you will note mentions to scenes of the country and things related to building a house. As "festa do comeeira" when the roof is ready and, so, you can live there.... anyway, great moment......)sic
