The here and now... and what and why

Complacency is a trap. At least that’s what I was thinking when I up and left the comfort of a Yankee prep school gig, where I taught music, amongst other things, for 28 years. There was also that life long career as a composer, musician and artist.

First, it was a year in St. Thomas, USVI, working as a reporter and shooting photography and then, a year in San Agustin Etla, Oaxaca, Mexico.
Time passed.
More time passed and a year back in the Athens of America followed by a hasty return to Oaxaca where it is all happening.
A couple of years in San Sebastian Etla and now, just down the road in San Pablo Etla. Life is good.

I shoulda been there

Well, I missed Día de la Samaritana, in Oaxaca and π day and what's more when I set up here in Boston, they thought I was just crazy.
Really, did miss it and this is from last year.  Bad timing on my part.

Did you have the proper permits, health dept. ok, water purification test done, zoning permit's, orange cones properly placed for traffic control, and fire dept ok for he decorations, before serving your first cup of water from a spoon that I hope was sterilized and then washed in water at a temp of 220 degrees before serving each customer?
Just kidding of course, but in the U.S., they sure do make us go through many hoops and costs to get something done.

Jajaja.... So true. "We don't need no stinkin' badges"

And when I tried to tap into the electricity at the base of a street light, people looked askance. What a weird country with so many rules.
