The here and now... and what and why

Complacency is a trap. At least that’s what I was thinking when I up and left the comfort of a Yankee prep school gig, where I taught music, amongst other things, for 28 years. There was also that life long career as a composer, musician and artist.

First, it was a year in St. Thomas, USVI, working as a reporter and shooting photography and then, a year in San Agustin Etla, Oaxaca, Mexico.
Time passed.
More time passed and a year back in the Athens of America followed by a hasty return to Oaxaca where it is all happening.
A couple of years in San Sebastian Etla and now, just down the road in San Pablo Etla. Life is good.

Center of the Universe

Jajajajajajajajajaja....
You may not realize this, but I control the universe to a large extent.  Like if I wash the car, it rains or if I am needing a nice bright day so I can get ready to head south....  And it is raining ice pellets, which the wind is blowing so that you can hear them hitting the windows.  Lovely!
I like this shot.  The Buddha is in there, completely covered, but the snow made a face.
This struck me as funny.  I am selling my car and will rent in the future and I am so used to dealing with the systems in Oaxaca, which can sometimes take weeks or sometimes take mere seconds, it's all in the luck, that I'm amazed at how fast one can do things here. Ain't technology beautiful sometimes?
However, in the words of the Great Buddha, "Getmeouttahere."

Update: 2:30 PM - It is 40 degrees and pouring.  However, it is frozen rain, somehow close to sleet, but not sleet.  Freet?  Frain?  Ugly, ugly, ugly.  The sound it is making on the skylights is unnerving.
