The here and now... and what and why

Complacency is a trap. At least that’s what I was thinking when I up and left the comfort of a Yankee prep school gig, where I taught music, amongst other things, for 28 years. There was also that life long career as a composer, musician and artist.

First, it was a year in St. Thomas, USVI, working as a reporter and shooting photography and then, a year in San Agustin Etla, Oaxaca, Mexico.
Time passed.
More time passed and a year back in the Athens of America followed by a hasty return to Oaxaca where it is all happening.
A couple of years in San Sebastian Etla and now, just down the road in San Pablo Etla. Life is good.

Time to head back...

Back to warmer weather and warmer people, too.  Although, to be honest, it has been really warm here in Boston.  It is supposed to be in the 70's on Wednesday.  Crazy!  And the people are pretty warm and friendly, too.  However,  I do go back to a slightly more sane and civil country.  And back to mi casa and mi jardin.  And back to the market in Etla on Wednesday.
The things I miss.  It is easy to spend $40 and get very little food here in El Norte.  That is over $700 MP and I can normally fill up my cart for far less than that in Oaxaca.  Oh, well....  each place has its advantages.  Still, I don't see these in my local supermarket here.
Everything is always so fresh and healthy.
Real avocados!!!  I am so ready.
Shhhh... I am taking back English Muffins and cheddar cheese, doncha know.  Can't get them in Etla.
