The here and now... and what and why

Complacency is a trap. At least that’s what I was thinking when I up and left the comfort of a Yankee prep school gig, where I taught music, amongst other things, for 28 years. There was also that life long career as a composer, musician and artist.

First, it was a year in St. Thomas, USVI, working as a reporter and shooting photography and then, a year in San Agustin Etla, Oaxaca, Mexico.
Time passed.
More time passed and a year back in the Athens of America followed by a hasty return to Oaxaca where it is all happening.
A couple of years in San Sebastian Etla and now, just down the road in San Pablo Etla. Life is good.

It's all in the wrist.

The move went well and I am safely ensconced in my new casa.  It has been a lot of work, but hey, it's called "Moving" and setting up a new place is always fun.  This one has been relatively easy, but still exhausting.  Everything is in and finding the right spots.  Last night I slept in one of the other bedrooms and boy, did it feel right.  Oh, and I have already cut the lawn... it is probably 1/100th of the one I just cut for the last time last week.  It will take a week or so to make the outside presentable, but it's a start.  The downstairs is really looking fine.  Pics in a bit.

Of course, there has to be some drama.  Fifteen minutes before the whole move started, I managed to fall and do a number on my wrist... and hip...and head..... and maybe I broke a rib.  Perfect!  I have never broken a bone and I thought I had this time, but I am a typical male, you know, a moron, so I just plunged on.  Got some good advice from M & S, wrapped it and iced it and two three days later, here's what a wrist sprain looks like.
I like this shot because my hand covers up the entire back yard!

And I learned a new word, muñeca, wrist.

so....it looks like you will be doing more container gardening. Less lawn is good.
