Oops... I forgot to take before pictures. so here are some current shots. You can see I have been busy. The place is very tranquil compared to San Sebastian. And I have a gate... and a big friggin' wall.... oops, again. The views are nice, but they can wait. Here's the front entrance.
The living room filled will huipiles and trajes.... and good music. I have speaker set up everywhere, What can I say, I remain a sound nut. To the right...
And the left.
The hall is made for this piece. The rug is by good friend, Antonio Ruiz.
The morning sun comes in my bedroom and the view is rapidly climbing hills into the mountains.
I will be there very shortly................... more in a bit.
The here and now... and what and why
Complacency is a trap. At least that’s what I was thinking when I up and left the comfort of a Yankee prep school gig, where I taught music, amongst other things, for 28 years. There was also that life long career as a composer, musician and artist.
First, it was a year in St. Thomas, USVI, working as a reporter and shooting photography and then, a year in San Agustin Etla, Oaxaca, Mexico.
Time passed.
More time passed and a year back in the Athens of America followed by a hasty return to Oaxaca where it is all happening.
A couple of years in San Sebastian Etla and now, just down the road in San Pablo Etla. Life is good.

You can find my music on Jango (World & latin - Worldbeat) and at iTunes and most online stores.

Què bonita casa, me gusta el color, da mucha calidez!
Looks lovely! I have been reading this blog for about two years. Love the photos, but I do like that you are interacting with your commenters a bit more lately.
What a beautiful house!! Good for you!! That looks like my dream house! I can't wait to come back to Oaxaca!! Take care :)
Chris your new house is fabulous! Love the open, airy, sunny rooms. A beautiful place to relax and breathe after the trama of moving.
Yes, this place is really nice. It is so quiet and off the beaten track although really not that far from the main drag, about 7-10 min. It will take a few days to finally get stuff put away and to get settled, but it feels great to be here. Having the rugs and the huipiles as my major art piece sure made moving easy. It would have been much different if it was all ceramics although I do have a few of them. I am psyched to work on the garden. It is just the right size.
Chris the house and your creative decor of exquisite art is absolutely beautiful. As if you are living in an Art Museum. Well never saw the first house, but I do plan on seeing this one. Take care my friend.

Hi Chris, love your blog. Are you in 1st, 2nd, or 3rd section? Welcome to the neighborhood!
Gracias, I believe I am in scenic section 3.
