The here and now... and what and why

Complacency is a trap. At least that’s what I was thinking when I up and left the comfort of a Yankee prep school gig, where I taught music, amongst other things, for 28 years. There was also that life long career as a composer, musician and artist.

First, it was a year in St. Thomas, USVI, working as a reporter and shooting photography and then, a year in San Agustin Etla, Oaxaca, Mexico.
Time passed.
More time passed and a year back in the Athens of America followed by a hasty return to Oaxaca where it is all happening.
A couple of years in San Sebastian Etla and now, just down the road in San Pablo Etla. Life is good.

¡Ya basta! - Enough already with the rain!

This is the wettest rainy season I have experienced in Oaxaca.  It just keeps raining, often coming down in buckets, even some hail, which did an serious number on the gardens. Ah well....
Roads and homes are flooded in low lying areas and bridges are being damaged by swollen rivers. I'm lucky to be up in the foothills, but all that water that falls on those mountains behind me has to go somewhere, so I have running water, little rushing rills, passing through on its way to the river about five km. down the way.  Its sound is very nice at times, but when it is really pouring, it is actually too loud, like it going to wash the house away.  On the positive side, this house has a rain collection system and the cistern is full.  I only wish it was much, much bigger,  This would be enough water to last a year, as it is it will last until Jan. or Feb.

Managed endeavors, and even novel products inside an industry, will show specific bothers for those doing the bundling. BASTA
