The here and now... and what and why

Complacency is a trap. At least that’s what I was thinking when I up and left the comfort of a Yankee prep school gig, where I taught music, amongst other things, for 28 years. There was also that life long career as a composer, musician and artist.

First, it was a year in St. Thomas, USVI, working as a reporter and shooting photography and then, a year in San Agustin Etla, Oaxaca, Mexico.
Time passed.
More time passed and a year back in the Athens of America followed by a hasty return to Oaxaca where it is all happening.
A couple of years in San Sebastian Etla and now, just down the road in San Pablo Etla. Life is good.

Befores and after

Thanks to a faithful reader in the Great State of Maine for kicking me in the butt and encouraging me to rejoin the real world.  I have been recovering from all the festivities and working outside.  I recently found these shots from the last two years.  First, this shot from November of 2013.  This was after smoothing the whole lot out, moving lots of dirt around and moving even more rocks around.  I did the Sisyphus thing for a while.
Then this shot from October 1, 2014
And finally, ten months later, this one from the end of June.
Things have grown even more since then... I mean, it has been a whole month.

a real achievement with that original rocky foundation. I love the butterflies and hummingbirds.
