The here and now... and what and why

Complacency is a trap. At least that’s what I was thinking when I up and left the comfort of a Yankee prep school gig, where I taught music, amongst other things, for 28 years. There was also that life long career as a composer, musician and artist.

First, it was a year in St. Thomas, USVI, working as a reporter and shooting photography and then, a year in San Agustin Etla, Oaxaca, Mexico.
Time passed.
More time passed and a year back in the Athens of America followed by a hasty return to Oaxaca where it is all happening.
A couple of years in San Sebastian Etla and now, just down the road in San Pablo Etla. Life is good.

Two killed in front of Santo Domingo - UPDATE 3

Now the Zetas are taking credit for the killings.

From notioax.com (full story in Spanish)

"The thing that happened to `Dragón' and to his compadre `the Chema' will happen to all that rob, kidnap, extort and assassinate in the name of the organization `Zetas', without belonging to it.”...

They also they sent a message to the authorities, mass media and to the public saying:  "No  one will be able to sleep peacefully, no civil servant, politician, leader, or delinquent who collaborates with the brothers Diaz Pantoja, will be pardoned”

They warn: “To the honest citizens, the decent people and workers of Oaxaca, our organization DOES NOT TOLERATE any extortion, kidnapping or robbery against people and industrialists.  We will not allow it and we are going to bring order."

They are talking about the recent killings of the leaders of social movements, I think.  Please feel free to correct my translation.  I am not sure if I have it right.

There is something ironically funny about a message of "decency" and what they will/won't tolerate, coming from the Zetas. Who knew that the Zetas would be such stand-up guys?

Well, you got me going on this and I found another source with more info on the reference to the Diaz Pantoja family. Interesting that the Oaxacan media isn't reporting this Zeta story.
