The church in the Zapotec weaving village of Teotitlan del Vaille is getting a new paint job. The setting is a spectacular one where I have seen the Danza de las Plumas (Dance of the Feathers or Conquistadores). The plaza was empty save for the painters.
Detail of the part left unpainted to the upper right of the entrance.

I guess I'll be repeating myself again and again about similarities in decor in different countries, cultures, continents, climate zones etc..
That beautiful ornamental detail reminded me for some reason a similar pattern I saw in the Amber Room in one of St. Petersburg's palaces....So gentle yet so expressive...
