Like most sane, and I use the term very loosely, people, I have a dread of the Registry of Motor Vehicles or the DMV or whatever it is called where you are. Technology has helped speed things up, but I have had too many experiences when I was lacking some key document or application and had to go get or do something and then..... go to the end of the line.
Today, I ventured into the city to the main office in Colonia Reforma to get new plates and to pay my tenencia or car tax for the year. Last time I went to attempt this resulted in the single most stupid and embarrassing moment in recent memory... THIS! Uh, what was I sayin'? Luckily, my memory is fading fast.
So it was with great trepidation that I entered the office, only to find no lines and lots of helpful people. Of course, I was lacking a copy of one document, so I ran across the street, got it and took my place...... at the end of the line, which was only a few people. Got the plates, paid my tenencias and returned to the plates place to get my new Tarjeta de Circulacion Vehicular. Three separate lines, but I was out of there in less than an hour.
And this time I parked I parked in a lot!!! As GWB (Great or the Greatest) once said, "Fool me once, shame on—shame on you. Fool me—you can't get fooled again."
