Independence Day in El Norte.  What does it make you think?
The US seems more dependent than ever, but unwilling to acknowledge it.
Here, it has been a cloudy and rainy week, perfect for working in the garden and watching the countryside turn green, not with envy, but with a sigh of relief.

I am off to the start  of a week-long fiesta in Teotitlan del Valle, a place that practices co-dependence, the concept of guelaguezta, shared wealth, shared work and shared debt.

As for the other Guelaguetza, the dance festival, things are looking up.  Everything seems ready.  The roof is done or very close to being done.
